Buy One Get One Free On Mr Bagels In Safeway
This summer, leading bagel provider, Mr Bagels, is supporting its brand with a buy one get one free promotion, on five of its ambient varieties in Safeway stores nationwide.
From 12 July 2004, consumers who buy a bag of Mr Bagels' Plain, Sesame, Cinnamon and Raisin, Onion or 'Everything' bagels, will be allowed to pick up another bag absolutely free. All bagel varieties retail at £1.05p for a bag of five - allowing Safeway customers to enjoy 10 for the price of 5.
Mr Bagels' Managing Director, Paul Kahalani, said: "We are happy to be supporting the Mr Bagels brand with this added value offer in Safeway stores this summer. We believe this promotion will not only give consumers the opportunity to try bagels for the first time, but introduce them to a whole range of great tasting varieties.
Made to an original recipe, the bagels are low in cholesterol and fat, yet are high-energy and packed full of carbohydrates. Only the finest, quality ingredients are used and they are ideal at any time of day served toasted and spread with butter or filled with pastrami, smoked salmon and cream cheese. The 'Everything' bagel, which is unique to Safeway in retail, is topped with a mixture of seeds and salt, giving it a savoury flavour perfect for filling.
The bagels will be sold in eye-catching packaging that has been designed with a contemporary look to protect the product, enhance the finished article in the eyes of the consumer and increase impulse purchase.
Paul Kahalani concluded: "We believe investment is critical to our success as sales of bagels in the retail sector have now reached £23.5 million. Throughout 2004, we will be extending the Mr Bagels' brand in ambient format to other multiple retailers as they take advantage of the burgeoning bagel market."
"Product development will continue to be our core activity with new recipes, shapes and varieties being added to our extensive portfolio of high quality products."
